Audio Physic Midex with power train

Audio Physic presents the new Midex. For the first time, the award-winning speaker is equipped with the revolutionary PowerTrain technology including the new HHCM SL midrange driver.

Audio Physic Midex - that starts with the arrangement of the loudspeaker chassis in the front: The two powerful woofers are not arranged together at the lower edge of the baffle, as is usual, but take the tweeter and midrange in their middle.

This arrangement helps to reduce the uncontrolled excitation of the listening room in the bass range and thus ensures more precision in the reproduction of low frequencies.

Proven housing design

The housing of the Midex is designed in a proven sandwich construction, inside numerous elements made of open-pored ceramic foam are used as internal reinforcements. This expensive high-tech material consists of around 85% air. The supporting foam structure forms a substance that is almost as hard as diamond. Ceramic foam is light, but at the same time extremely rigid and, with its large surface area, acts as a diffuser for the sound emitted from behind. With this material we can therefore reinforce and dampen the loudspeaker housing at the same time without wasting valuable housing volume. The Midex is certainly not a small loudspeaker, but thanks to ceramic foam it is acoustically a lot bigger than it looks from the outside.

In addition, the construction of the Midex Audio Physics uses new honeycomb sandwich material that was first used in the flagship Structure. With comparable stability, it has significantly less resonance and is lighter than the MDF commonly used. The partially open honeycomb structure in turn helps to optimize the acoustically effective volume of the housing. ??The Midex also benefits from numerous pioneering Audio Physic technologies, such as the vibration-inhibiting decoupling of the crossover and connection terminal. The latter is also equipped with high-quality nextgen® pole terminals from WBT.

New midrange driver HHCM SL

The new HHCM SL midrange driver and HHCT tweeter of the third generation are used in the Midex, which also do their job in the Codex. The modern architecture effectively reduces self-resonance and leads to an inimitably pure and open sound reproduction. ??For easy installation and a secure footing on any surface, the Midex has a stable truss construction, as is also used with the Codex. The trusses are equipped with an M8 thread and can therefore be upgraded with the Vibration Control Feet VCF V Magnetic Plus. Their trend-setting design allows a noticeably increased image fidelity and reproduction authenticity, and they also protect sensitive floors from scratches.

In terms of sound, the Midex is beyond any doubt thanks to its versatility, and you don't have to make any compromises with it either visually. It is available as standard in various wood and high-gloss glass surfaces and can be equipped with glass panels in practically any color on request.

Features: 3-way principle

With the 3-way loudspeaker, three different loudspeaker chassis share the reproduction spectrum. One or more woofers, a mid-range speaker and a tweeter. The separation of low and mid-range is usually between 150 Hz - 300 Hz, the crossover frequency of mid-range to high-frequency chassis is usually 2000 Hz to 3000 Hz.

Sandwich body construction

With the unique sandwich construction, they have found an innovative way to prevent the loudspeaker housing from having an acoustic life of its own. The advantages of this construction are particularly noticeable in loudspeakers with glass surfaces.

HHCT III - Hyper Holographic Cone Tweeter

The HHCT-III tweeters combine several AUDIO PHYSIC core technologies to ensure absolutely unadulterated and enormously spatial music reproduction.

HHCM SL

HHCM SL

Honeycomb sandwich board

This stable honeycomb material was used for the first time in the STRUCTURE technology platform. With comparable stability, it has significantly less resonance and is lighter than MDF and is therefore an ideal material for loudspeaker construction.

Ceramic foam bracing

Ceramic foam or ceramic foam is a high-tech material that is used in many loudspeakers to stiffen the housing. It is significantly more stable than MDF, but consists of 85% air. This increases the effective working volume of the loudspeaker with the same housing size.

Dual basket design

The unique double basket design suppresses unwanted vibrations where they arise: in the chassis.

Active cone damping

ACTIVE CONE DAMPING is a form of resonance suppression for metal membranes that was first implemented by AUDIO PHYSIC.

Bi-wiring/bi-amping optional

Most AUDIO PHYSIC loudspeakers are supplied with a high-quality single-wiring terminal as standard in order to avoid unnecessary metal and cable bridges in normal operation. In most cases, a bi-wiring/bi-amping terminal is available as extra equipment for new orders, subsequent conversion only on request.

CCAC – Ceramic Coated Aluminum Cone

Coating an aluminum cone membrane with a special ceramic creates an extremely light and torsion-resistant loudspeaker membrane which, in conjunction with the ACTIVE CONE DAMPING technology, is practically immune to disruptive partial vibrations.

VCF - Vibration Control Feet optional

The high-end speaker feet VCF protect sensitive floors and offer a simple but amazingly effective sound improvement for speakers from AUDIO PHYSIC and other manufacturers, hi-fi components of all kinds and even cables.

VCT—Vibration Control Terminal

Unwanted vibrations disrupt the unadulterated signal flow at every point in the transmission chain. Since AUDIO PHYSIC has declared war on sound-damaging vibrations and resonances in any form, the VIBRATION CONTROL TERMINAL (VCT), which is elaborately decoupled from the housing, was developed.
